Nice to meet you,
My name is Simone van Rookhuizen, and I have a keen interest in concept development and design within the fields of fashion, textile, advertising, marketing and branding. A go-getter with a strong passion for creativity and a keen sense of aesthetics - these are some words that characterize my work ethos.
I am currently working as a designer at Yumeko, a sustainable bed & bath brand. Before that, I was responsible for marketing and social media at City Skydive.
My foundation was built trough two bachelor’s degrees. I studied Graphic Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts, graduating with an 8.5 for my final documentary, which followed Alie, an 86-year-old, self-reliant woman. I also completed a degree in Media, Information and Communication at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
Along the way, I gained experience through two internships (MuseumTV and NOISE), completed minors in Visual Language and Interactive Narrative Design, and joined an exchange programme at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
